The holiday season is here, and ’tis the season for craft fairs.

The Puna Hongwanji will be hosting its fourth annual Winter Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.

With over 80 vendors, shoppers will have many choices of handmade products locally made by people from around the Big Island.

The first Winter Craft Fair was held in 2019 with 29 vendors and was successful enough to plan a second Spring Craft Fair in 2020, which was ultimately cancelled, organizer Veronica Kitayama said.

A second Winter Craft Fair was held outdoors in 2021 with 36 vendors, with many of them eager to participate after the pandemic slowed down business but kept them busy.

The third Winter Craft Fair doubled in size in 2022, and now the fourth has grown again with more vendors inquiring about getting a spot, according to Kitayama.

There will be a wide array of items available such as jewelry, hand-sewn clothing, hair accessories, freshly baked goods, gift baskets and novelty items.

Food vendors will be there throughout the day serving a variety of foods, desserts and drinks.

Paradise Country Band, Daughters of God, Puna Taiko, Lynn &Lila, Keaiwa and Ho‘aikane will all be performing live for attendees. There will be an ongoing raffle and silent auction with prizes coming from vendors and local businesses.

Entry to the event is free. Attendees are welcome to enjoy a full day of entertainment, food and fun.
